Horsemanship 101 for middle schoolers

Learn compassionate and mindful horsemanship skills

with Liz Belcher and Colleen Duggan

Wednesdays 3:30 - 4:30pm, October 18 and 25, November 1, 8, 15, and 29

Learn compassionate and mindful horsemanship skills in this 6 session series beginning Wednesday, October 18th. This workshop is geared for youth ages 11-14.

Middle school can be a tough time of transition, uncertainty, and shifting social groups. This workshop aims to boost confidence and strengthen social skills all while learning new horsemanship skills!

In this series participants will experience and learn about:

·      different horse personalities

·      how horses communicate with one another 

·      how to read horse body language

·      how to communicate with horses effectively and compassionately

·      a lot of horse hugs and learn why that feels so good!

.      Skills to help regulate mood and nervous system

·      working around horses safely

·      herd behavior

·      Grooming, haltering and leading

·      Basic horse anatomy

·      Fun horsey facts

No previous horse experience required. All learning will be done on the ground; no riding will take place during this series.

$400 if paid in full or $75 per session
